Benedito Tomas Maunze | Mozambique Benedito Tomás Maunze is a professional tour guide in Mozambique. As a youth, Beny learned the art of sales, offering everything from roasted peanuts to secondhand clothes, boiled eggs, coconuts, and pineapples on the street, then selling souvenirs. He was a student at the African Impact English club, then volunteered as a coordinator?s assistant and English club translator there. He started a training program in chemical operations at Sasol Petroleum Temane, then worked as a junior process controller and plant operator. Beny completed a tourism information course and an intensive training program in Cultural Management. He is currently based in Inhambane, where he manages Smile Mozambique, a service provider, tourism promotion, and community development company that he founded. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, he plans to use the experience and knowledge he acquired to build a skill center in the coastal town of Vilankulo to help the children and youth of his community have successful careers. He will also grow his company, Smile Mozambique.
